The exhibition Missing is part of the Tartu 2024 Unfit Remains project, which focuses on the cultural meaning of endangerment and brings to public attention aspects of extinction through artistic means. It is designed to constitute a makeshift natural history museum of lost species to address the human relationship to endangered and extinct nonhumans. This contemporary art exhibition echoes the Unknown contemporary art exhibition that will take place among the permanent collection of Tartu Ülikooli Loodusmuuseum (April-Sept.2024). These two exhibitions aim to blur the boundaries between art and science to offer an individual grasp of environmental decline, and interrogate the process and monitoring of species endangerment and extinction
